- Remove your filter
For accessing your dishwater filter, you need to remove your lower dish rack for exposing the bottom of your dishwasher. The filter is located at a back corner of the tub or around the base of the bottom spray arm. Many dishwasher filters have two parts: upper and lower filter assembly. Turn the upper filter clockwise and take it out. Then, gently pull the lower filter to remove it.
- Clean your filter
Run water over your dishwater filters for eliminating the soils. You can do it with the help of a soft brush and dish soap on the calcium deposits and other debris. Never use a wire brush, scouring pad or anything rough for scrubbing the filter as they can damage it.
- Get your filter replaced
Then place the lower filter back to its place, so that the upper filter lines up with the round opening in the bottom of the tub. Fit the upper filter in its place. Then turn the filter in a clockwise direction until you feel a lock. If the filter still moves, it is not placed properly. Never run your dishwasher when it is not properly in place. Check the upper and lower assemblies. A loose filter can ruin your dishwasher in no time. Keep in mind that if the upper filter can still move clockwise, it is not locked.
